"We are extremely proud to collaborate with a leading renewable energy player to promote sustainable electricity production and distribution. This is a strategically significant project for us, as our goal is to be a strong contributor to the growth of renewable energy in Finland,” says Harri Lukkarinen, Managing director,  NRC Group Finland.

NRC Group will carry out the wind farm’s road network, foundations, internal grid, and the design and construction of the substation. Preparatory work has already partially begun, and main construction will start early next year. The wind farm construction will be completed by the end of 2026, and the substation construction and installation will be finalized by spring 2027.
“It’s great to work together to advance wind power in this project. I believe our diverse expertise and long experience in building and maintaining critical infrastructure will bring excellent value to the project and ensure successful implementation,” says Sami Korhonen, Director of the Electricity and Energy Division at NRC Group.

The Salo-Ylikoski wind power project is located in Kauhava, South Ostrobothnia. The wind farm will be connected to Fingrid’s 110 kV Seinäjoki-Hirvisuo power line, which runs about three kilometers west of the project area. A dedicated substation will be built along the power line, and electricity will be transferred via underground cable from the project site. Once completed, the wind farm will produce approximately 146 GWh of energy annually, equivalent to the yearly electricity consumption of about 29,000 households (5,000 kWh/year).

“This is a strategically important milestone for NRC Group. OX2 is a leading renewable energy developer with a strong presence in Finland and Sweden, and we are proud to support their expansion. And I’m confident that our proven expertise in building and maintaining critical infrastructure across the Nordics, will bring added value to this project. This contract also strengthens our position in the energy segment and serves as a key reference for future projects”, says Anders Gustafsson, CEO of NRC Group ASA.

OX2 is a leading wind power developer in Finland. The company has completed 17 onshore wind power projects in Finland and currently manages a total wind power capacity of approximately 2,250 MW, comprising 400 wind turbines.
